At Metsá-Kabi we offer intimate 18-day ayahuasca retreat and traditional master-plant dieta held in the Peruvian Amazon outside Iquitos.

The journey begins with a period of preparation, evaluation, and cleansing before the master-plant dieta is formally opened. Through individual consultations, ayahuasca ceremonies, plant baths, traditional purgative practices, and other Shipibo healing methods, Maestra Ángela López and Urias García Nunta take time to understand what each participant may need.

From this process, the healers create a personalized treatment protocol and select the master plant most appropriate for the individual. This careful preparation helps participants enter their dieta with greater clarity and creates a safer, more supportive, and more effective foundation for the work.

Once the dieta is opened, participants enter into a focused relationship with their master plant through dietary restrictions, simplicity, rest, intentional solitude, and continued guidance from the healers. The plant works beyond the ceremonies, allowing the healing process to unfold gradually throughout the retreat.

This is more than a series of ayahuasca ceremonies. It is a complete Shipibo healing process rooted in an ancestral practice of cleansing, listening, realignment, protection, and integration.

Throughout the retreat, participants will be supported through ayahuasca ceremonies, traditional plant baths, healer consultations, dieta meals, periods of quiet reflection, and integration practices. The experience also includes gentle yoga and embodiment, breathwork, sound healing, creative expression, and opportunities to learn about Amazonian plants and Shipibo traditions.

The retreat is held at Metsá-Kabi, Maestra Ángela’s land at KM 72 outside Iquitos. Surrounded by the living rainforest, participants stay in traditional open-air tambo cabins and receive freshly prepared meals that follow the guidelines of the dieta.

The group is intentionally limited to ten participants, allowing each person to receive meaningful attention and personal support from the healers and facilitation team.

Our intention is to honor the depth of traditional Shipibo medicine while providing a grounded, compassionate, and trauma-informed environment in which each participant can move through the experience at their own pace.

A portion of the proceeds directly supports the healers, their families, and community projects in Ucayali. Ayni, the sacred practice of reciprocity, is at the heart of how we approach this work.
