Maestra Ángela López — Shipibo Curandera, Lead Healer

Maestra Ángela López is a highly respected traditional healer from the Ucayali region of the Peruvian Amazon, with over 30 years of experience working within the Shipibo lineage. She holds deep, ancestral knowledge of plant medicine, energetic diagnosis, and the icaros — the sacred healing songs sung directly to each participant during ceremony.

Her icaros are known among those who have worked with her for their precision and profound power to move heavy energies, open the heart, and guide participants through even the most difficult passages of the healing process. She works with compassion and exacting care, holding each person’s individual process within the broader arc of the traditional Shipibo treatment: diagnosis, cleansing, protection, and closing.

Metsá-Kabi is held on Maestra Ángela’s own land, which she has tended and worked with in ceremony for decades — giving the retreat a depth of relationship between healer, land, and medicine that is rare to find. She leads this retreat alongside fellow Shipibo healer Urias García Nunta.
